"Fun together!" is a joint initiative of Famke van Buren and Connie Berendsen. Van Buren is the owner of Hondencentrum Wraf, where she and her colleague Mandy van Gelder want to contribute to a better, more social society: “We achieve this by guiding dogs into a cheerful, social house dog where education is central and different offering social projects where people are central. ”
Berendsen has been active in the dog world for many years now. Under the name Giants May Be’s Place, she breeds German Shepherds (long-stick hair) and Great Danes. She also has her own dog school. She is particularly interested in the relationship between dogs and humans and the influence they can have on each other's behavior. Berendsen attaches great importance to coaching dog owners and making them aware of their dog's behavior. She has previously written the booklet “Awareness of dog behavior”.
In the bundle "Fun together!" 38 different specializations have been collected in which one can participate with the dog. According to Berendsen and Van Buren, it was high time that a book was published that gives an overview of the many activities that can be done in the field of dogs. The professionals who offer these activities are also given the opportunity to bring his or her specialty to the attention in this way. It has become a nice compact booklet with many color photos and a clear, concise explanation of each discipline. A small selection of the described activities: rescue dog work, canicross, steppes, sheep herding, agility, knitting, dog massage, active walking holidays, detection work and working with sled dogs.
